Living with Autism

Children and Families

Following the principles of ABA, we work closely with you and your child to develop a treatment plan focused on reducing challenging behaviors and maximizing skill acquisition. Like anyone, an individual living with autism possesses unique gifts and experiences unique challenges. We take both of these things into account as we work to modify behavior by varying environmental stimuli, such as verbal reinforcements and community engagement.

How It Works

What We Do

At B.E.T.H. Services, we start by determining the best assessments for your child, then create individual goals for desired skills and behaviors. Whether we work within the clinic or home setting, we contrive and implement naturalistic teaching opportunities to develop skills.

Every child is assigned a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will design a treatment plan and monitor your child’s progress, and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Your RBT will work directly with you and your child to implement the plan, and collect data that will determine the effectiveness of the treatment.

How We Can Help

Our Core Services

The following are our core offerings. However, we know that every family has unique needs and their objectives. If you have a question about something that isn’t listed below, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We are here for you–all you have to do is ask.

Peer Interaction

We directly facilitate groups and break-out sessions where children have the opportunity to interact with each other. These sessions occur under the observation of a B.E.T.H. Services team member.

Play Skills

We help your child learn how to play with toys (as they were designed to be used) and to have fun discovering the function of an object.

Feeding Therapy

While allowing for a child’s food preferences and sensitivities, we focus our feeding therapy sessions on developing good eating habits, such as staying seated at the table and observing socially significant mealtime behavior. We base each session on the child’s willingness to try new foods and always respect their right to dignity of refusal.

Language Development

Whether it be shaping words into sounds, or sounds into words, we pay special attention to what your child is going through in order to help them develop their language skills.

Behavior Reduction

We work with you and your child to find an alternative for their current behavior and form of communication. We start by finding the cause of a behavior, then turn to the work of teaching a more effective way to communicate with the outside world.

Toilet Training

It’s never too late to ditch the extra change of clothes you carry around with you. At B.E.T.H. Services, we help identify why accidents happen and work to cultivate a sense of proud independence in your child.

Individualized Goals for Independent Living Skills

We write every goal with our client’s independence and verbal community in mind.

Individualized Goals for Skill Acquisition

We set goals that are tailored to meet your child’s behavioral and developmental needs. Each goal outlines the skills they will need to independently function in multiple settings.

IEP Revisions & Consultation

Our Licensed Special Education Teacher will walk you through what to expect when developing an Independent Education Plan (IEP) for your child. This includes how to determine what your child needs and how to work with schools to achieve the optimal outcome.

Parent Training and Observation

Parent involvement is one of the most important components of any child’s treatment plan. At B.E.T.H. Services, we not only invite you to observe your child’s sessions, our BCBA’s will also walk you through our methodology so you can understand why we do what we do. We also offer extensive parent training opportunities so that parents can bring new skills to bear on life outside of the clinical setting.

Sibling Interactions

In our years of experience as ABA analysts and technicians, we have learned that ABA is for the whole family. Our aim is to help families create healthy and loving environments for each member of the household.
