Our mission

B.E.T.H. Services is committed to making a lasting change in your life by doing things a different way—the B.E.T.H. Way. This means that our team faces challenges head on, and that we hold ourselves to the highest standard of care. We trust in the science of behavior analysis founded by B.F. Skinner because its principles have been proven time and again to be the most effective treatment for shaping and changing behavior.

We also know from experience that every person—regardless of their diagnosis—possesses individual gifts and lives in particular circumstances. This is why our customized treatment plans are always guided by and adapted to the incidental and environmental factors that are unique to each person. At B.E.T.H. we believe that coping is not enough.

We strive to help our clients get beyond the mere desire for change and start down a self-aware path of active choices that break unwanted cycles of behavior. Sometimes change is easy; sometimes change can seem nearly impossible. Regardless of the obstacles, we will stand with you.

Our values

The B.E.T.H. way is rooted in four core values:

Plainspoken honesty

As analysts and clinicians, we trust in the clarity of honest data and empirical evidence. As partners in our clients’ growth and development, we rely on that same plainspoken honesty to communicate with our clients and their families. We never talk down to clients and we never make false promises or guarantees. We are invested in our clients’ progress and our collective success depends on straightforward yet compassionate candor in order to build trust and to cultivate a strong and effective working relationship.

Hard work

We won’t lie: change is hard work. Working with B.E.T.H. means that you will have a committed and hard-working team who will put the time and effort toward developing and implementing a clear and systematic plan of treatment. But we can’t do it alone. Our clients’ success depends upon the consistent and dedicated effort of the whole family and extended network of support. You can trust that we will challenge you to work hard for your successes, both big and small. You can also trust that we, as your team, will be there to guide you through the hard-fought process from start to finish.

Commitment to change

Achieving sustainable change requires sustainable commitment. When we take on a client, we pledge to work hard and we ask for the same pledge in return. Our clients know that they can depend on B.E.T.H. to stick it out when things are difficult, to answer their calls when they need us, and to communicate clearly and with compassion. We make this commitment because we know from experience that it takes an all-in attitude to realize change. When you choose to work with B.E.T.H., you will be asked to make the same commitment. At the same time, we recognize that we are all human; we don’t aspire to or expect perfection. What we do expect is that our clients and their families commit to working hard and to staying the difficult course. The B.E.T.H. Way is not always the easy way, but we have learned from years of experience that it is the surest path toward securing lasting change.

Raising the bar

At B.E.T.H. Services, we believe in raising the bar to a new standard in healthcare. No challenge is too great, and every day our clients’ successes and triumphs bear witness to this fact. B.E.T.H. is not content with low expectations, nor do we believe that our clients’ diagnoses should stand as a barrier to setting the highest expectations and goals. We firmly believe that living with behavioral and developmental differences does not—and should not—detract from the ability to thrive and to live independently in the world. We encourage our clients to dream big, to work hard, and to not be discouraged by the inevitable stumbles and falls along the way. The path to greatness—of ANY kind, and for ANY individual—begins by casting off the fear of failure and walking boldly toward positive change and transformation.
